What is GetEmails?
GetEmails is an amazing, proprietary technology that identifies up to 35% of anonymous traffic on your website.
How does it work?
GetEmails will provide you with a script to put on the backend of your website. As recipients visit your site but don’t identify themselves, the script will check our database to see if we can identify the visitor for you.
What contact details will GetEmails provide me?
GetEmails will provide you with the following contact details:
- First name
- Last name
- Email address
- Postal address (address, city, state, and zip code)
- The URL that captured the contact (the first page they visit that has the script on it will show in the report)
- Opt in date
- Opt in URL
How do I get started?
If you haven’t already, head to http://app.getemails.com/login to sign up for a new account.
Once you’ve created your login and password, you’ll be able to see the script you’ll need to add to your website to start collecting emails. You can email that code to a developer or teammate, and verify if it’s been installed. Not ready for that yet? No worries, all these tools are in your account; click Skip to Dashboard.

How do I start collecting emails?
1. From your account dashboard, click Code Snippet and then View Script.
2. Check the box next to Collection, and then click Copy Code </>. Insert the code into your website pages where you want it to collect emails. (Note: You can’t click both the Collection and Suppression options at the same time.)
3. After the code has been added to the page(s) you want, click the Verify Installation button to check your URLs to confirm the script was added properly.
4. By default, the script status will be set to On*, which you can see from your account’s dashboard page:
Note: if the toggle is set to OFF, no emails will be collected.
What is the Suppression snippet for?
Using the suppression script is optional. It’s used to remove recipients who are already converting on your website in real-time. By using the suppression script, you prevent paying for GetEmails contacts who have already converted.
You would place this script in the header of your confirmation / thank you / post purchase pages.
Your suppression script can be found under Code Snippet and then View Script.
Check the box next to Suppression, and then click Copy Code.
What are Suppression Lists for?
You can upload your current subscriber list as a suppression file to automatically remove contacts who are already on your email list.
After identifying a contact on your site, GetEmails will check your suppression list first to see if the contact already exists. If it does, you will not receive the contact via GetEmails.
You can upload as many suppression lists as you like. The only required field for loading a suppression list is a single column in a CSV file labeled “Email.” We recommend eliminating any other columns or fields prior to importing.

How do I access the GetEmails contacts I’ve collected?
Emails are identified and added daily. You can find downloadable Excel CSV files in two places:
- Contact Downloads
- Dashboard
Integrations
To connect your GetEmails account to another system and automatically transfer new contacts, click on the Integrations tab.

How do I prevent getting (and paying for) duplicate emails?
1. Use the Suppression Script
The purpose of the suppression script is to remove recipients who are already identifying themselves on your website. Since they are identifying themselves when visiting your site, you do not want to pay us for that contact’s information. Place the suppression script on the confirmation/thank you page that a recipient is taken to after subscribing, downloading a lead magnet, making a purchase, etc. After they share their email with you and land on this page, GetEmails will know not to send you this contact.

Account Settings
Account Details
Update your company name (optional), first name, last name, email address, and phone number.

Notifications
You can set up and change notifications for your billing, reports, loaded data, and if you’re nearing/exceeding your max plan. Here’s how to manage all of your notifications:
1. Go to My Account > Notifications from your GetEmails dashboard.
2. You will then see options to add recipients for notifications and also turn notifications on/off (YES/NO). Your billing notifications are always on. You can control notifications for billing, daily/weekly reports, when data has loaded, and if you’re nearing/exceeding the plan max.
3. Next to Email, choose whether you want to receive a daily or weekly report (or both) by toggling between Yes/No for each. If you choose Yes, add a recipient’s email address in the text box. You can add multiple recipients to receive the notifications.
4. You can also receive an SMS message letting you know when the Data Has Loaded and if you are Nearing/Exceeding the Plan Max. If you choose Yes for these notifications, add one or more 10-digit phone numbers into the text boxes.
5. When you’re finished adding or editing your notifications, click Update Notifications.
Billing
In this section, you can view your current plan and subscription details, upgrade or downgrade your current plan, edit your credit card details, and view your billing history with invoices.

Subscription
From here, you can view your current plan, select a new plan, cancel your account, or turn overages on or off.

What are overages?
If you enable overages, then we will continue to collect contacts from your website at the listed overage rate. This rate applies once you have hit your plan max. We recommend this option if you do not want to experience any interruptions in contact collection.
If overage is set to No, then once your plan max is met, the script will automatically turn off and no additional contacts will be collected until the month is over and a new billing cycle begins.
Password
In this section, you can change your password. Please note that passwords must contain at least 10 characters, include at least one number, and one special character.
